While the great Saint Domnic was in France working against heresy, Mother Mary gave him -- and the world -- the Rosary. She told him to teach people this devotion, and promised that his apostolic efforts would be blessed with much success if he did.

Mary has appeared to people many times over the centuries and told them to pray the Rosary daily. This next sentence is important: Sister Lucy of Fatima said that there is no problem, no matter how difficult, that cannot be solved by the Rosary.

Think about that. We fret, we worry, we live in fear sometimes -- and all the while the Rosary is waiting, our telephone line to our dearest Mother and the Queen of Heaven.

In this French picture, Mary and Jesus are giving the Rosary to St. Domnic as well as St. Catherine of Sienna, a great Saint and Doctor of the Church, who was a Dominican and lived about a century and a half later. She is shown with a crown of thorns because she lived with much physical suffering. The Dominicans are huge advocates of the Rosary.

We hope to have a holy card re-print soon of this picture, with the 20 mysteries of the Rosary on the back. It took us a long time to restore it, and it was a privilege. Peace be with you, friends.
